On August 11, our club members were honored to be recognized with a proclamation by the Southold Town Board, for the good works Southold Rotarians do in our community, regionally, and around the world. Special mention was made of the new clock donated to the Town and placed in Silversmith's Corner.

Club members celebrated this with a fun night of fellowship over dinner at Senor Taco!

 

 

Thank you to all who attended the 35th Annual Lobsterfest at Veterans Park in Mattituck on July 25! Funds raised at this event will support many good works by both Greenport and Southold Rotary Clubs. We appreciate the community's support. Save the date for next year's Lobsterfest: Saturday, July 31, 2027! 

 

On July 20, Southold Rotarians--plus a couple of family members--provided and served ice cream sundaes to 200 campers at Camp Good Grief, a children's bereavement camp run by East End Hospice each summer.

 

Southold Rotarians (and friends) had a great time marching in the July 4 parade! 

 

On June 30, our club had its annual Installation Dinner, installing our new Co-Presidents Linda and Marie. Thanks to Rotary District Governor Lydia, who installed the 2026-27 board as well as our new Rotarian Georgia. A fun night for all in attendance!

 

On June 18, we dedicated the clock in Silversmith's Corner, which was donated by Southold Rotary to the Town of Southold, in memory of Burt G. Lewis, III, and Cynthia A. Lewis. Thanks to all who worked together to bring this project to fruition. We hope the clock will be a lovely addition to our community.

 

On June 16, club members provided and served a tasty meal to local community members at Southold Presbyterian Church's Community Supper. Rotary in action!

 

On June 7, Team Southold Rotary joined the Walk4Valor, a 22-mile walk from Southold to Orient and back again, meant to bring awareness to the veteran suicide rate. The club is proud to sponsor this event and our local veterans.

 

Congratulations to Patricia McArdle, who was selected to receive the 2026 Laura Goodale Award! The award, given by the Greenport and Southold Rotary Clubs, honors the dedication and exemplary service of a healthcare employee at Stony Brook Eastern LI Hospital who embodies the legacy of Laura Goodale, a nurse known as the "Florence Nightingale" of the North Fork. On June 2, the two Rotary Clubs gathered together with many ELIH staff and supporters, to recognize Ms. McArdle.

 

On May 16, Rotary's EPIC Day of Service, the club built beds for local children along with members of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Greenport Rotary, Ronkonkoma Rotary, and Butterfly Effect Project. Thanks to all our volunteers, SHP now has 32 beds ready to be donated to local families in need.

 

We had a full house at our Italian Night fundraiser on April 27. Thanks to all our supporters, and to Touch of Venice for putting together fantastic meals and service! 

 

Thank you to the local community for supporting Southold Rotary Club’s food drive at IGA on March 21! We collected 33 boxes of food and cleaning products and raised $343, all of which will go directly to three local food pantries and the families they serve.

 

 

On February 21, our club was proud to have a spot at Winterfest on the Main Road in Southold! We had a great time interacting with all who stopped by our booth.

 

On February 6, club members again had the honor of serving a hot meal to the guests at Maureen's Haven in conjunction with a local church. Clothing and toiletries were also distributed to those in need. After guests spent a warm, safe night at the church, more Rotarians were up before dawn to serve a hot breakfast.

 

Our club was so pleased to host 9 of our 11 scholarship winners along with their families at our Scholarship Dinner on January 6. These students graduated last June from either Mattituck or Southold High School and are now continuing their education. Best of luck to all!

50 Thanksgiving dinners--complete with fresh veggies, canned veggies, stuffing, apples, cider, milk, pie, a turkey and more--were distributed today to families. Thank you to CAST for partnering with us each year to help our local community. 🎉🦃 Happy Thanksgiving to all! 🎉🦃

 

Thanks to all who came out to support our Scallop Dinner event! The proceeds from this great community event will help support many local initiatives.

 

Each year the club looks forward to honoring our local veterans with a warm and yummy brunch at the Southold American Legion. Today we were able to thank our brave men and women for their service.

Last night the club was happy to provide and serve a hot meal to the guests at Maureen's Haven, before setting them up with a safe and warm place to sleep for the night. A hearty breakfast was served by Rotarians early this morning too. 

 

On October 7, our club recognized four individuals who embody the Rotary credo of "Service Above Self" at our Paul Harris Awards Dinner. Congratulations to Dr. Kerry Spooner, Lisa Jacobs, Leo Sledjeski, and Paulette Ofrias (in memoriam).

 

Congratulations to Rotarian Walter Krupski, recipient of this year's Theodore Roosevelt (TR) Award from ELIH! The TR Award is given by member hospitals of the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council to recognize individuals for their significant voluntary contributions to Long Island community hospitals. Walter is a dedicated volunteer, both with Southold Rotary and with our local community hospital.

 

On September 27, several of our club members joined Greenport Rotary's team at the North Fork's Walk to End Alzheimer's. This worldwide event raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support & research. 

 

On September 16, our club was pleased to provide and serve a delicious supper to local community members at the Southold Presbyterian Church's weekly Community Supper.

 

DG Lydia installed our newest Rotarian, Marie Shack, on August 12. We are happy to officially welcome Marie to the club roster!

 

On August 12, we were thrilled to welcome District Governor Lydia Wells to discuss our club's goals for the year! DG Lydia shared her message as well as Rotary International President Francesco's message to "Unite for Good."

On July 21, club members prepared and served ice cream sundaes to 280 kids and counselors at Camp Good Grief, a bereavement camp for children and teens run by East End Hospice each summer. We were happy to put smiles on these kids' faces!

 

Happy Independence Day! Southold Rotary Club members had so much fun marching in the Southold Fourth of July parade. We were joined by family, friends from Greenport Rotary Club, and local volunteers for Canine Companions, a group our club helps support financially. 

 

On June 24, Rotarians provided and served a tasty meal to local residents at the First Presbyterian Church in Southold. It was fun to interact with the attendees, who really enjoyed the meal. Rotarians in action!

 

Congratulations to Walter Krupski, who has been named Rotarian of the Year for Rotary District 7255! Walter's dedication to service is unmatched. With appreciation for all he does for Southold Rotary and the entire North Fork community, we congratulate Walter for this well-deserved recognition.

 

Congratulations to Linda Sweeney, the 2025 winner of the Laura Goodale Award! On June 3, the Rotary Clubs of Southold and Greenport together recognized Linda for her outstanding service to the community at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital. Each club made a donation to the hospital in Linda's honor. Read more about nurse Laura Goodale and the award established in her memory on our website. 

 

Our 2025 EPIC Day of Service was a fantastic event bringing together two Rotary Clubs, a local business, a local nonprofit organization, and community volunteers. Southold Rotary partnered with Greenport Rotary and Douglas Elliman in Cutchogue to build beds for local children in conjunction with the North Fork chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. We cut, drilled, sanded and stained the wood for twenty beds that will be delivered to local families as requested, along with new mattresses and bedding.

 

Southold Rotary was proud to sponsor several of the water stops on the 2025 Walk4Valor, a 22-mile walk from Southold to Orient (and back again), organized by the Act of Valor Foundation to raise awareness about the heartbreaking reality of veteran suicide. Thanks to all the community members who came out to enjoy our Italian Night dinner. A great time was had by all, and the proceeds of the event will support many local causes!

 

Thank you to our supportive community for contributing to our food drive on March 15! With your help, we collected almost 50 boxes of food and more than $400 in donations, which were divided among three local food pantries. 

 

We had a great time at WinterFest in Southold on February 8. We handed out many free cups of hot cider, sold raffle tickets for wonderful prizes, and were happy to share the Rotary experience with all who visited!

 

On January 28, the club held a wonderful night of networking and making new friends at Sannino Vineyard and tasting room. We were excited to meet potential new members and share what our club and what Rotary is all about.

 

Each month from November through March, the club volunteers to host Maureen's Haven at a local church for an overnight. Rotarians serve a wonderful meal, hand out new clothing and toiletries, and provide a filling breakfast in the morning. Hands-on service is what our club is all about!
